  | | General Generally this is the same review as for ThePoolClub game as they are both quite the same and both were made by Memir. Watching the two it seems that the Snooker Club is a bit more advanced.
| | | Games Offered This game is all about Snooker

 | | Site Design
Site design is quite bad! Looks like something from the beginning of the Internet. The site contains a lot of relevant data to the games offered and the tournaments and leagues. Actually it does not look at all like a gaming website but rather like a content website. I should add that the site here is a little bit better than the Pool Club but still they have much to learn on how to design a gaming website.

Site Usability The site is pretty easy and straight forward to use. You can reach the FAQ and Forum easy enough and sufficient data is supplied on the pages. As the website look more like a content site. It is not intuitive to start downloading a game from this website. It is interesting to mention that I have found a fan site for the Pool Club (the pool club fan site)

 | | Game
Design They call it a 3D game but this is not exactly a 3D game. I must admit that I have tried only the valuation version but I believe that the permanent version should be the same. You view the game as 2D but have some control on where you hit the ball (Raise Butt or English). In sum there is only a little 3D animation following the shot. The graphics is pretty much low level especially the graphics of the lobby. In sum the game is pretty lame for a 3D game especially a paid game. Again, I will insert here a short remark that I though the game possessed some more 3D features than its brother at the Pool Club but it is still not exactly a 3D game.

Game Usability & Interface The client is about 8MB in size which is quite big for this quality of game. The game has many different practice mode options, and is fairly intuitive, once you get a hang of the mouse directions that control both the force of the shot and its angle. Targeting the cue-ball is done after the cue stick and the force are set, and is a bit buggy, it doesn't always focus properly, requiring you to target the cue again. A nice feature is the guiding lines, predicting where your target ball will go once the cue has hit it, which makes things easier than usual, but still pretty realistic and not at all too easy. Also in-game help is included in the client, explaining basic things in relation to the game that you are playing at the time and further help is available only via the website to which you are referred. The lobby is quite useful but looks awful very old fashioned. In sum, the interface is bad I think that the separation between the strength of the shot and its direction makes the game totally unreal

Game Physics
They promise to have the best 3D physics but as I said you don't really view the game at 3D so it is very hard to evaluate how good the 3D physics is. As I have already commented, as you don't really control he shot at one move it also reduces my appreciation of the physics involved in the game!

Money Gaming Yes, There claim to be cash prize events, although nowhere were stated the terms of these events, or how much cash was involved, except in the "League" section, where a 1 st prize of 50$ was stated. It also costs money to register and play the game (around $40 per year).

 |
Tournaments Yes, tournaments are the main feature of thepoolclub.com and their game. Tournaments are offered in various billiard games mostly under call shot rules.

Conclusion
I did not like the Pool Club is it is a hybrid between 2D and 3D and as such it does not offer any of the advantages of any. It does not give the real life feeling of the 3D on the one hand and not the quick and fun play of the 2D on the other. In sum, I do not recommend this game and especially I do not recommend paying to play it.
